Dr. Lisa Zimmermann developed her unique expertise in treating complex chronic illness through three decades of medical practice, research, and numerous trainings and certifications. As an internist, she observed that traditional symptom based medical care did not answer why a patient developed their illness but rather only focused on alleviating symptoms. It was with a complicated medical case that she was introduced to tick borne illness. Through ILADS (International Lyme Association Disease Specialists) training, she began to unravel the complexity of diagnosing and treating persistent Lyme disease and tick-borne co-infections.
Dr. Zimmermann found that the conventional pharmaceutical treatment for Lyme and tick-borne co-infections was flawed with high rates of relapse and adverse side effects. When she applied a biological and holistic approach to tick borne illness, she observed her patients reporting significant improvement in their symptoms and high rates of long-term remission. By addressing all the imbalances within a patient’s terrain, she helped her patients return to a state of optimal health.
Since then, Dr. Zimmermann has extended her functional medicine training and biological treatment protocols to address several other complex medical conditions such as: mold and mycotoxin illness, gut dysbiosis, autoimmune conditions, endocrine imbalances, chronic inflammation, thyroid dysfunction, environmental toxin illness, chronic fatigue, and fibromyalgia amongst others.
Through comprehensive assessment and the latest diagnostic tests, Dr. Zimmermann uncovers and treats the root causes behind each patient’s condition. She also specializes in regenerative medical treatments that promote cellular restoration. Her ultimate mission is to guide her patients to a vibrant state of health where they can thrive.
